Description

This website of the upcoming german fantasy-movie “Krabat” is a nice example of a completely flash-based 360° multi-resolution panorama website. It takes you into the middle of the movies central filmset, “The Dark Mill”, where you can explore the rooms and all the content featured within them. The panoramas and contents are set up to load quite fast (good balance of quality vs. loading-time), are enhanced by decent real-time ambience light effects and feature a awsome soundtrack. It also includes hidden rooms and bonus-content which can be unlocked by a inbuilt search-game. Impressive is, that it runs smooth in fullscreen even on older P4-machines (just toogle to fullscreen by clicking the “VOLLBILD”-button to the lower left). For slower machines the panorama-accuracy can be lowered (by clicking on the “QUALITÄT”-button) or also set higher for modern CPU´s (by clicking that button again). Website visitors are free to navigate to the content via looking around and using the hotspots located inside the several rooms panoramas – or alternativly can use a conventional menu. Given that the site needed to be produced in just a few days and with (very) little budget, I think it still brings up a great atmosphere, and certainly should make people curious about the movie. I hope you like it :)
